That’s the way the local media grades the effectiveness of our elected ones. but as I've noted many times in the past, he is quite proud of his pork and would use transparency to show his effectiveness as a Alabama Senator. I’ve often pointed out that Senator Shelby’s web page is a testament to the pork he brings home.
While I indicated that Artur Davis (D) would be better off to wait till 2010 and challenge Shelby in a race for a Alabama seat in the U.S. Senate rather than run against Sessions in 08, it will be tough to win against a law maker as “effective” as Senator Shelby.
As Senator Shelby noted in a previous article, being in the minority party would have little effect on the some $200 million that Alabama enjoys every year for “sidewalks, courthouse renovations, research facilities, defense-related technology, local school programs, arts councils, museums, sewers and highways”
